Inside Look: “SELF-Made Women” Panel

So many of you have been asking about our final panel that we figured we would spare you the suspense.  Keep reading to learn all about the SELF-Made panel and the incredibly accomplished women who will be taking part.

Panelists will include:

Nicole Cardoza, Founder, Yoga FosterNicole Cardoza
Nicole Cardoza launched her non-profit, Yoga Foster, after her volunteer initiative as a yoga teacher in schools made her realize the importance of quality, accessible programs. She has trained with Om Schooled, Cosmic Kids Yoga and Mindful Schools, and is a former piano teacher. Cardoza is a regular contributor to Mind Body Green and Do You Yoga, a GOOD Local leader in NYC, and has been noted as one of the Top 10 Millennials Who Are Changing the World by ABC. 

 

Melissa Fensterstock, Co-Founder, Aromaflage Melissa Fensterstock
Melissa Fensterstock holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, and a BA from Johns Hopkins University. She launched Aromaflage, a botanical fragrance and insect repellent, in 2012 with her husband, Michael. Fensterstock grew up outside of NYC and currently resides in Manhattan.

 

Amanda Freeman, Founder & CEO, SLT (Strengthen, Lengthen, Tone) AmandaFreemanHeadShotEvan
After earning her MBA from Harvard Business School, Amanda Freeman went on to found SLT, a 50-minute workout combining cardio, strength training and pilates. SLT has six studios in the New York vicinity and three more in the works. Previously, Freeman was the co-founder of Vital Juice, a leading health and wellness e-newsletter. She’s also held positions at CAA and The Intelligence Group. She’s a co-founder of the fitness industry non-profit event Sweaty Saturday, where she works to unite fitness studios and their clients to sweat for a cause for one special Saturday each year. 

 

Elle Kaplan, CEO & Founding Partner, LexION Capital ManagementElle Kaplan
Elle Kaplan launched LexION Capital in 2010, with the objective of providing top-tier wealth management and investment advice. Her most recent venture, LexION Capital Access, was launched in 2012 to offer the same high-caliber wealth management with a lower investment minimum. Kaplan earned her MBA in Finance from Columbia University, and her undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and English from the University of Michigan.

Suzanne D’Amato is the executive editor at SELF magazine. Prior to joining SELF in May, she was the executive editor at People StyleWatch magazine for 5 years. During her tenure, People StyleWatch was named Advertising Age’s “Magazine of the Year” and appeared twice on AdWeek Media’s Hot List. D’Amato has also held senior editorial positions at DominoThe Washington Post and Teen Vogue. She is a graduate of The University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a B.A. in English Literature. She resides in Brooklyn.
